CATering Sardine
Sardine is a natural package of complete protein, Omega-3 fatty acids, and calcium in one bowl. CATering Sardine contains 97% pure sardine meat in a tasty mousse and provides natural support for your cat's heart, joints, and coat.
CATering Sardine fits perfectly into current nutritional trends – it features a low carbohydrate level (7% on a dry matter basis) and phosphorus derived exclusively from organic sources (0.8% on a dry matter basis). Will the CATering sardine mousse be ideal for your cat?
For which cats is CATering Sardine a good choice?
1. Cat with food intolerance / allergy sufferer
A single source of animal protein in every flavor. Sardine is a small fish with a short food chain – lower risk of heavy metal accumulation and histamine-related allergens than in the case of larger marine fish.
2. Cat with sensitive kidneys
Phosphorus is exclusively organic, 0.16% on an as-fed basis (0.8% on a dry matter basis) – safely below 1%, as in all flavors in the CATering line.
3. Cat that drinks too little
By choosing wet food, you provide your cat with water together with the meal. CATering Sardine has 80% moisture – one of the highest levels in the line – and covers the daily water requirement almost entirely.
4. Picky / neophobic cat
Mousse texture and an optimal fat level (~25.5% on a dry matter basis) act as carriers of aroma and taste. For maximum palatability, serve the food at room temperature. Serving it straight from the fridge may reduce the intensity of the aroma and taste appeal. Sardine has one of the most intense aromas in the entire line – often chosen by cats that love strong fishy flavors.
5. Cat predisposed to diabetes or insulin resistance
Carbohydrate content at 7% on a dry matter basis – a desirable low level, with no grains or fillers. Helps stabilize glycemia without restricting food intake.
6. Senior cat
Taurine at 2400 mg/kg protects the heart and eyesight – especially important in older cats. Organic phosphorus below 1% on a dry matter basis helps relieve the kidneys, which work harder with age. High moisture supports the urinary system. The mousse is easier to eat for cats with dental problems. Natural fish Omega-3 supports joints and coat condition.
7. Neutered cat
Neutering changes metabolism – neutered cats have lower calorie requirements and a higher risk of overweight. Low caloric value (951 kcal/kg) and low fat (5.1%) make weight control easier. Organic phosphorus below 1% on a dry matter basis – urinary prevention support.
8. Cat on a rotational diet
12 flavors in the line, each with one source of animal protein. Rotating different proteins reduces the risk of food intolerances and diet monotony. Sardine joins the CATering range as a distinctive fish flavor.
Why is CATering wet sardine food a good choice for your cat?
Grain-free – low carbohydrate content
A cat is an obligate carnivore – its body has a low ability to digest grains or starches. It meets its energy needs with protein and fat, and produces the missing glucose itself through gluconeogenesis. CATering Sardine contains only 7% carbohydrates on a dry matter basis – no grains, no fillers, no compromises.
Phosphorus – exclusively organic, below 1% on a dry matter basis
Excess phosphorus burdens the kidneys, which is why not only its amount but also its source matters. In CATering Sardine, phosphorus comes exclusively from fish, and its level – 0.16% as-fed and 0.8% on a dry matter basis – remains safely below 1%. No added inorganic phosphates*. The calcium-to-phosphorus ratio is 1.4:1 – within the norm for a healthy adult cat.
* Inorganic phosphorus – added to many foods in the form of phosphates – burdens the kidneys and may lead to damage of the renal tubules.
Taurine – healthy heart, vision, and nervous system
Cats produce taurine in insufficient amounts – its level in the body depends almost entirely on what they eat. We supplement 2400 mg/kg – above the FEDIAF minimum, because your pet's healthy heart, good eyesight, and proper nervous system function cannot depend on chance.
A single fish protein source
Each can of CATering Sardine contains only one source of animal protein. This is especially important when a cat is on an elimination diet. Sardine is a small pelagic fish with a short food chain and a lower risk of cross-reactions.
Lowest caloric value and lowest fat in the line – support for weight control
CATering Sardine has 951 kcal/kg and only 5.1% crude fat – the lowest values in the entire CATering line. This is a practical difference: at the same daily energy requirement, sardine allows you to serve a larger portion of food, which can be important for neutered cats, overweight cats, or cats with a strong appetite.
Psyllium – soluble fiber for digestion
Psyllium husk in the formula is not an accidental addition – it acts as a soluble fiber that regulates intestinal function, binds water, and helps maintain proper stool consistency. Discreetly, yet effectively.
80% moisture – daily hydration
Cats have a poorly developed thirst reflex – their bodies evolved to obtain most of their water from food rather than from a bowl. CATering Sardine has 80% moisture – one of the highest levels in the entire line, covering the daily water requirement. Daily support for the urinary system, without needing to monitor whether your cat drinks from the bowl.
Tasty mousse – fat as a carrier of aroma
Cats choose food primarily by smell – aroma is the first and most important filter, even before taste. The mousse texture and optimal fat level (~25.5% on a dry matter basis) carry an aroma your cat won't miss. Sardine has one of the most intense scents in the entire line – it is best served at room temperature, which enhances palatability.
Cuisine for picky palates
CATering PERROland was created for cats that sniff, turn away, and wait. For cats with food neophobia, introduce the new flavor gradually: try PERROland broths as a bridge between the old and the new.
Composition: 97% sardine (85% whole fish, 12% sardine broth), 1% psyllium, 1% vitamins and minerals, 1% salmon oil.
A single source of animal protein. Zero grains, zero fillers.
Divide the recommended amount of food into 4–5 meals per day. Remember that feeding recommendations may vary depending on the cat's age, condition, and temperament. Always provide fresh, clean drinking water.
Store in a dry and cool place, away from sunlight. After opening, refrigerate and use within 48 hours.
Serve at room temperature – warmth releases the food's aroma, attracting your cat to the bowl. Food straight from the fridge, despite its perfect formula, may be ignored by your cat.
