IsoDog – Electrolyte Drink for Dogs 20 x 10 g

Electrolyte drinks are an important part of preventing dehydration and mineral imbalance in dogs. The product's ingredient composition helps to:

• prevent dehydration in gastrointestinal disorders (diarrhea, vomiting)
• replenish energy and electrolytes during prolonged physical exertion
• hydrate bitches during pregnancy, whelping, and lactation
• provide fast and effective hydration during hot weather and travel
• high palatability – easy hydration in case of reluctance to drink water

A complementary feed for dogs that helps regulate water and electrolyte balance. It is intended to help prevent dehydration and supports the maintenance of electrolyte balance. Use is recommended in situations that may lead to dehydration and electrolyte loss, such as diarrhea, physical exertion, severe stress, travel, and hot weather.

Its high palatability allows effective hydration of animals showing reluctance to drink water, which is often observed in geriatric dogs and during illness.

Scientific studies suggest that oral electrolyte preparations may have a beneficial effect on the health and condition of dogs. Using them in drink form is an effective support in the treatment of diarrhea and dehydration caused by it. Positive effects have been observed both in stress-induced diarrhea and hemorrhagic diarrhea.

Hydrating working dogs with water enriched with nutrients before exertion suggests that electrolyte supplementation may reduce post-exercise muscle damage and limit exertion-induced hyperthermia.

Hydration may be particularly important in puppies. Young animals need more fluids than adults and may be more prone to rapid development of severe dehydration, hypoglycemia, and electrolyte disturbances.

Dehydration may also affect older dogs, who are more exposed to certain health conditions that promote dehydration.

Published studies also indicate that dogs are more willing to drink and rehydrate when offered nutrient-enriched water solutions, especially those enhanced with flavoring and aromatic substances.

Active ingredients and their effects

AAKG is a form of arginine used in sports and health supplementation. It has a positive effect on aerobic and anaerobic performance during exercise. AKG may have an immunoregulatory effect in intestinal inflammation by inhibiting the release of pro-inflammatory factors. The presence of AAKG in the diet may also improve metabolism and protein synthesis, especially in older animals. AKG has been shown to improve kidney function and nutrition in patients with chronic kidney failure and to reduce plasma urea levels.

L-glutamine is a naturally occurring amino acid that supports the immune system, digestion, and muscle recovery. It is considered a conditionally essential amino acid during catabolic stress, when its stores in the muscles are depleted. Oral glutamine administration may improve the condition of dogs with enteritis and even increase survival in dogs with parvoviral enteritis.

BCAA, or essential branched-chain amino acids, are necessary for muscle development and shaping the physique of sporting dogs. They increase muscle fiber growth and effectively protect them from catabolic processes.

Maltodextrin is a highly digestible carbohydrate source used to replenish energy before, during, and after physical exertion. It supports muscle glycogen resynthesis.

B vitamins take part in metabolic processes leading to energy production, including energy derived from amino acids and the use of muscle glycogen. They are involved in red blood cell formation and positively affect oxygen transport to cells. They contribute to the proper functioning of the nervous system.
